This page will give a brief update on the club's recent activities, so that you can see what we get up to !
We were sad when our regular monthly meeting place closed in 2022. However, the Botolph Arms on the Oundle Road reopened in mid-2023 and welcomed us back. Having no fixed base gave us the opportunity to drive out to a number of local country pubs for the first half of 2023 for our regular first Thursday of the month meetings. The first event of the year was the club’s Snowdrop Run in February. Members were tasked with leading us to locations where snowdrops grew in abundance and we ended up at a pub for an excellent Sunday lunch. We drove our MGs on ‘Drive It Day’ in April, explored the local countryside on a number of picnic runs. In the Spring we also drove up to Derbyshire where we visited the ‘Great British Car Journey’ museum. Our club attended a number of car shows including the Ramsey Classic Car Show in May and Maxey Car Show in August, unfurling the club banner and exhibiting our polished MG treasures. Some club members with caravans gathered at a site near Dedham in North Essex in early July and experienced the delights of Constable country. We will be gathering in December for our annual Christmas dinner, a festive finish to an active year. Already members have put forward a good number of ideas for activity in 2024 and our first task in the new year will be to organise ourselves for the next season of MG motoring.
